This course will guide you through the airport emergency planning process. The purpose of airport emergency planning is to minimise the effects of human error, procedural lapses and blind spaces in managing processes and operations and to deal with the external factors that may lead to emergencies. In addition, the airport emergency plan sets out procedures for coordinating the response of various airport, local, national and international agencies that could assist in responding to an emergency. Internal communication is essential for proper action and assistance to affected people. The members of the emergency group must know their responsibilities in crises and their roles in the coordinated response. Participants will understand the essential components of emergency response and how to deal with difficult and complex safety concerns.

Acquired knowledge, skills and competencies by the learner after completing the training course:

• Knowing the extreme importance of safety to the operation of an airport
• Enforce aviation safety rules and standards in the work environment
• Knowledge of the correct use of personal protective equipment in the workplace
• An adequate response in emergency and critical situations
• Orientation and proper response based on acquired knowledge and practical skills
• Assuming responsibilities in organising and conducting various types of operations in emergencies;
• Developing skills to apply safety rules in conditions of high risk;
• Planning and leading teams involved in operations in states of a high degree of risk
• Knowledge of airport emergency plan requirements, processes and responsibilities of process participants.
• Maintaining communication and carrying out the coordination of activities and functions.
• Prepare an adequate airport emergency plan, planning, communication and stakeholder engagement.

The training is based on different training methods such as simulations, exercises, work with peers, individual work, case studies, etc., to develop a highly effective training procedure. Finally, the program concludes with reflections on what the participants have learned and an action plan to help them apply the insights they gained during the program.
